Alive and digitalized

Apr 22, 2016

The annual Barents Press conference - 2016 has started today in the city of Haparanda, Sweden. The main topic discussed is digitalization of media. A hundred of participants from four Barents areas and the hottest speeches and speakers.

From the very start the audience's attention was caught by the young Swedish journalist Jack Werner, the author of the revelatory web-site Viralgranskaren. He spoke about strolling stories in the Internet, popular fakes and hoaxes spread in social networks.
Ahead there are two days of dense work and the most topical issues to be discussed - refugees, cross-border cooperation, media propaganda, ethics and media wars.
As it was said during the first panel giscussion, journalism has tendency to report now and then about its death. But apparently we are still alive. Alive and keep working.
