Barents Spektakel 2017 waiting for Russian journalists

Dec 17, 2016

As reported by colleagues from the Barents Secretariat, it has been decided to invite 10 Russian journalists to the Norwegian town of Kirkenes for the legendary art festival Barents Spektakel.

In 2017 the Festival will be held on 8-12 February and the theme of the international art forum will be industrial boomerang. The organizers and ideologists of the festival - the art group Pikene på Broen – comment that a new wave of industrialization catches up with the frontier, the authorities on both sides of the border are seeking to increase production capacity, to develop resources and to reboot the Arctic industry. Actors, artists, musicians, performers will attempt through art to answer the question: what about the re-industrialization of the Barents region trying to keep up with the world's re-globalization?

In the framework of the Barents Spektakel the traditional Kirkenes conference will be held.
Barents Press is pleased to invite colleagues from the Barents region to take part in the Northern European art festival.
